About East Resources Inc.

1983 - East Resources is established as a Pennsylvania Corporation.

1984 - East drills its first operating properties in Warren and Indiana Counties, Pennsylvania. The company later expands operations to McKean County, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

1992 - Acquires 400 miles of pipeline from National Transit Company and forms Northern Pipeline Company, LLC and Southwest Pipeline, LLC.

1994 - First of 25 drilling programs with Bradford Drilling Associates begins.

1996 - Installs and operates a natural gas processing facility in Northern Pennsylvania.

2000 - Initial discovery of the Trenton/Black River Field with the success of the Broz #1 in south central New York.

Acquires remaining Pennzoil assets in the Appalachian Basin from Devon Energy Corp.

Extensive south central New York and north central Pennsylvania lease acquisition and 3D seismic programs for deep gas drilling are commenced.

2001 - East discovers three fields in Watkins Glen, New York and acquires more than 250,000 acres of leasehold rights.

2002 - East sells its interest in the Watkins Glen fields but remains active in exploring acreage retained after the sale.

East discovers five new fields in Elmira, New York and continues to actively develop its acreage position, which is estimated at 75,000 acres.

2004 - East opens an exploration office in Denver, Colorado. That same year the company successfully participates in three U.S. Bureau of Land Management lease sales in Colorado and Utah, and leases nearly 175,000 acres of prospective oil and gas properties in the Greater Rocky Mountain Region.

2005 - East begins its first exploratory drilling play in Sweetwater County, Wyoming.

2007 - Acquires controlling interest in Vineyard Oil & Gas, a marketer of natural gas located in Northeast, Pennsylvania

Acquires Elkhorn Holdings, LLC, a gas processing and propane retailing company.

2008 - The company celebrates its 25th anniversary and employs 250 people.

2009 - East Resources Inc. receives a significant investment from private equity funds of global investment firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P. to expand its natural gas operations in Appalachian Basin’s Marcellus Shale Region.

Other holdings:

East owns Northern Pipeline Company, LLC. Northern Pipeline owns 400 miles of gathering lines, stretching from the Butler-Clarion County, Pennsylvania line north to the New York state line, traveling through Clarion, Forest, McKean, Venango and Warren Counties.

East owns approximately 100 miles of gathering lines from the Butler/Clarion County line south through the Pittsburgh area to the Pennsylvania-West Virginia border. The company owns 60 miles of gathering lines in Lancaster, Chester, and Delaware counties.
